ABOUT US

HISTORY
Founded in 1720, the First Presbyterian Church in Goshen has a rich heritage. Reverend Nathan Ker, our fourth pastor, was a confidante of George Washington and played a role in the Revolutionary War. Church elder Henry Wisner represented New York in the Continental Congress.
Our current sanctuary, completed in 1871, remains the tallest structure in Orange County. Built from local blue limestone, it features a 4,000-pound bell inscribed "Holiness Unto the Lord" and two signed Tiffany windows depicting the Resurrection and the Road to Emmaus.
VALUES
Our worship follows a traditional Presbyterian format, incorporating modern hymns from Glory to God. Music is central to our services, and we strive to be a warm, welcoming community. Visitors are encouraged to join us for worship and stay for coffee hour in Fellowship Hall.

VISION
We are committed to preserving our historic faith while embracing the future. Through worship, music, and fellowship, we seek to be a place of spiritual growth, community engagement, and service. We invite you to be part of our journey as we honor our past and look forward with faith and purpose.
