LEADERSHIP

Born in Brooklyn and raised in Queens, Todd Matthew Young has devoted his life to faith, service, and education. He and his wife, Lauren, have been joyfully married for 28 years and together have shared a passion for ministry, most recently serving at Scotchtown Presbyterian Church for four years.

Todd came to Christ in 1989 and soon after began his ministry journey at Chapel of the Redeemer in Westchester County, where he served from 1998–2011 as a Bible instructor, church administrator, and spiritual counselor to a congregation of over 200 members. Since then, he has continued to serve faithfully in the Hudson River Presbytery, holding leadership roles as a Stated Supply Pastor, Moderator, Commissioned Ruling Elder, and Committee on Ministry member, while providing pulpit supply and communion training throughout the region. As of August 2025, Todd serves as Stated Supply Pastor at First Presbyterian Church of Goshen.

A lifelong learner, Todd is a summa cum laude graduate of Boricua College and Mercy University, earning degrees in human services and behavioral science before completing a Master of Pastoral Studies in Urban Ministry at New York Theological Seminary. His academic work has focused on pastoral care, counseling, and issues of substance abuse prevention, and he developed the “W.A.Y. (Who Are You) Program” to address relapse, recidivism, bullying, and violence. He has also held certifications in HIV/AIDS education and counseling, smoking cessation instruction, and paralegal studies, and served as Alumni Coordinator for Hudson Link for Higher Education in Prison.

Beyond ministry and teaching, Todd enjoys life’s simple joys: riding his motorcycle, woodworking, exploring technology, and playing trivia games. At home, he and Lauren find endless entertainment in their two kittens, Gracie and Harlee.

Malcom Stewart

President of the Board of Trustees

My late wife Sue and I joined the church 27 years ago along with our children Jason and Becky.  I am in my 17th year as a sitting Elder and my third term as Chair of the Finance Committee and President of the Board of Trustees.  The Finance Committee manages the church's legal and financial matters including payroll, the leases with our tenants, insurance coverages, contracts, and the investment accounts. Prior to joining here, I was an Elder, President of the Board of Trustees and Chair of the Finance Committee of the Webb-Horton Memorial Church in Middletown.

 I am an Eagle Scout, a veteran of the United States Air Force, and was an eleven-year Trustee for the Village of Goshen. I am a Past President of the Goshen Rotary, and a thirty-six-year Life member, and Past Vice-President, Recording Secretary and Treasurer of the Dikeman Engine and Hose Company and a thirty-four-year member, nineteen-year President, and Past Captain, Lieutenant, Secretary and Treasurer of the Goshen Fire Police.  I am also a life member of American Legion Post 377 and the Vice-President and a longtime supporter of Cornerstone Theatre Arts.
